Wellll! We proudly present three complete Benny shows spanning
twelve years of his TV career. These are live programs, shown
only once, not seen on TV since they first aired. Guests on
these shows are Bob Hope, Martin and Lewis, Bing Crosby, George
Burns, Walt Disney, Elke Sommer, the Beach Boys, and of course,
Don Wilson and Rochester. Sketches include a spoof of Hope's
"road" pictures, a vaudeville act that teams Benny with Burns
and Crosby, and a "Mary Poppins" spoof. TV was never funnier!

1. OCTOBER 11, 1953: Guests are Fred MacMurray, Tony Martin,

2. OCTOBER 25, 1953: Jack's guest is Humphrey Bogart, as he
spoofs 1930s crime movies. Also complete with commercials.
3. NOVEMBER 8, 1953: Mary persuades Jack to buy a new suit.
4. NOVEMBER 22, 1953: Ronald Reagan introduces Jack as
Tom Jones, a man whose face nobody can remember. Original
commercials are intact.

1. APRIL 19, 1952: Jack's guest is Fred Allen. It's the final
show of the 1951-52 season, so Jack goes to see his sponsor. He
finds Fred Allen there trying to steal away the show. Eddie
Cantor makes a cameo.
(Note: The program is short at the
end, skipping to credits while Benny thanks his guests.)
2. JANUARY 6, 1957: Jack's guest is Jayne Mansfield. Jack
holds his annual talent competition to showcase the stars of
tomorrow. Mel Blanc does a funny segment as an animal
impersonator. All commercials are included.
3. NOVEMBER 15,
1953: Guest: Singer Johnnie Ray. Jack blows up after he books
Ray on the show only to find that Ray requires $10,000 an
appearance. Danny Thomas makes a cameo appearance. With
original commercials.
4. JANUARY 17, 1954: Liberace
guests, and tries to persuade Jack to appear at a benefit.
Original commercials are included.

1. NOVEMBER 30, 1952: After a tough day doing his TV show, an
exhausted Jack goes home to bed, only to be followed by burglars.
With commercials.
2. JANUARY 1, 1956: Jack has college
football coaches as his guests on this New Year's Day show, along
with the re-creation of his famous "New Year's Eve" skit he used
to do on his radio show in the 1940s. Commercials included.
3. APRIL 23, 1959: Jack and his guest Giselle Mackenzie get lost
on their way back from a supermarket opening in a remote area of
Arizona.
4. DECEMBER 22, 1956: A special Christmas
episode finds Jack holiday shopping at a dept. store, and
driving a hapless clerk (Mel Blanc) crazy. A commercial is
intact.

1. "THE $64,000 SPOOF" (1957). Jack's guest is Hal March,
who appears as himself. Jack gets Hal to appear on Jack's own
version of the hit game.
2. "JACK MEETS MARY LIVINGSTONE"
(1953). In a flashback episode, Jack tries to get Mary to go out
with him on a date.
3. "ROCHESTER GETS THE BIRD" (1953). While watching
Jack's TV show, Rochester vacuums up Jack's prize parrot.
Later, Jack goes to bed and two burglars attempt to rob him.
This part of the episode is a new filmed version of an earlier
live show (in #249).
4. "JACK GOES TO THE CARNIVAL" (1953). In a classic episode,
Jack takes the local boys' club to an amusement park, where he
meets all his kooky friends.

2. DECEMBER 8, 1953:
Guests are Peter Lawford, Carol Channing and Maria Riva.
Sketches include a take-off of What's My Line?. Also complete
with comma.

1. MAY 15, 1951: Milton's guest is Danny Thomas. In this classic
Texaco episode, Uncle Miltie attempts to teach Danny how to

2. SEPTEMBER 20, 1954: The 7th season premiere. Guests are
Mickey Rooney and Nancy Walker. Feeling he's lacking for
publicity, Milton fakes an illness and lands in the hospital,
hoping people will notice.

1. APRIL, 1956: Milton plays host to Esther Williams, Harry

appearances. Comedy includes Arnold Stang winning a date with
Esther, and Milton playing the long-lost twin brother of Elvis -
Melvin Presley! This show was telecast live from the USS Hancock
naval ship in San Diego, California.
2. MARCH, 1956: In a show from Nellis Air Force Base
near Las Vegas, Milton's guests are Zsa Zsa Gabor, Denise
Darcel, and Arnold Stang. Comedy includes Milton testing a
"thinking" machine out on a colonel.

TELEVISION PERFORMANCE of George and Gracie. George
introduces the cast to the audience. Hal March and Bea
Benaderet appear as the Mortons. Bill Goodwin announces.
All original Carnation commercials are intact. This is a real
collector's item!
2. APRIL 12, 1951: Gracie entertains
a visiting teenage relative, and George can't get used to the
current young fads. Bea Benaderet and John Brown appear as the
Mortons; all commercials are intact.
3. OCTOBER 23, 1951: Gracie has the monthly meeting of her
Beverly Hills Uplifting Society at her house; George wants no
part of this cackling bunch of frumps and cronies. Bea Benaderet
and Fred Clark appear as the Mortons; comma. included.
4. FEBRUARY 18, 1952: Gracie falls down in a dept. store,
and the owners fear that she'll sue them.

3. MAY 30, 1952: Gracie's nieces pay a visit to the Burns
household, just in time to keep George from writing a speech.
4. JULY 2, 1952: It's time for Gracie to renew her driver's
license, so heaven help the DMV!

The first three contain original commercials!
1. JANUARY 4, 1951: Gracie has the word "party" circled on her
calendar, and assumes she's having a party for George; she's knows
it's not his birthday; so she creates a day for him. Watch for a
surprise ending featuring a very special guest star! This episode
is the first to star John Brown in the role of Harry Morton.
George breaks character to introduce him. (Note: sound is a
bit scratchy.)
2. AUGUST 2, 1951: The girls go on a health kick and decide to
serve nothing but fruits and vegetables. George and Harry
(played by Fred Clark) are not happy.
3. SEPTEMBER 13, 1951: Gracie throws a wedding at the
Burnses' for a friend's daughter, and drives the caterer, the
florist, the participants, and all else crazy in the process.
Once again, George stops the action and introduces Harry Von
Zell as the how's new announcer!
4. 1952: A studio wants to
produce a film on the lives of George and Gracie -that is, until
Gracie gets involved!

Hope; General Hope raging a ratings war with the rival networks
(with cameos by Milton Berle and Steve Allen). Como sings two
songs. 2. MARCH 10, 1957: Guests are Wally Cox, Rosemary
Clooney, and Lana Turner. Comedy includes an Elvis spoof in which
Cox's vibrating adam's apple is banned from TV for being
suggestive; and a Playhouse 90 spoof.

Two more hour-long shows, both with original commercials.
1. JANUARY 25, 1957: Guests are Eddie Fisher, Betty Grable and
Harry James, and the new comedy team of Rowan and Martin.
Sketches recall Hope's meeting with Dick and Dan, and the making
of a new movie star, Tab Hope, in exchange for selling his sole to
the devil (James), who also does a trumpet solo. Grable does an
elaborate song and dance number.
2. APRIL 5, 1957: Guests are Frank Sinatra, Natalie Wood (at
age 18), and Janis Paige. Comedy features Hope and Sinatra as
benched minor league ball players, and Hope and Paige
masquerading as millionaires. Natalie discusses her rising
career, and Sinatra sings a couple of songs. Loads of Elvis and
Ike jokes - it's vintage TV at its best!

in...what else? A spoof of "I Love Lucy", in which Bob plays

together on a subway train. Carols sung by a boys' choir rounds
out the hour.
2. DECEMBER 28, 1956: A holiday-oriented show from a military
base in Alaska. Bob's guests are Ginger Rogers, Mickey Mantle,
Jerry Cologna, and singer Peggy King. Mantle plays a pampered,
spoiled private who's just been drafted, much to the chagrin of
Commander Hope. Also, Hope plays a tourist visiting Alaska

and a very young Robert Clary, who sings (?!) the song that made
him famous in the USA (not the theme from "Hogan's Heroes"). In

products as he shows Arlen in typical adventure films that he
keeps interrupting with commercials at crucial moments.

We've been fortunate enough to locate four RARE live kinescopes
from the 1950s that show the master of pantomime at his

won, does a pantomime routine, and the sketch spoofs British
newscasters.
2. FEBRUARY 9, 1954: Red's guests are Ed
Sullivan and the King Sisters. Comedy includes a Driver
Education lesson, and a satire on the navy.
3. JANUARY 25,
1955: Guests are Reginald Denny and Mary McCarty. A spoof of
trailer park living is seen.
4. JANUARY 13, 1959: Edward Everett Horton and Richard Deacon
are the guests. Red does a classic "Freddie the Freeloader" sketch.

Here are several volunes of two of Bob's famous sitcoms from
the 1950s, ALL UNCUT!
V231 MY HERO, I (1952)
Bob plays Robert S. Beanblossom, agent for the Thackery Realty
Company in this series. Julie Bishop co-stars as his girlfriend.
1. "HORSIN' AROUND". Bob takes a horse in exchange for an old
shack he's been trying to unload. While he tries to hide it from
his boss before he has a chance to explain, he finds out he was
swindled by two crooks, and the horse is stolen!
2. "SURPRISE PARTY". Bob plans to throw a surprise birthday
party for his boss, but it doesn't quite work out.
3. "OIL LAND". Bob's job is on the line when he sells some
property before finding out that there's oil on it.
4. "THE PHOTOGRAPHER". Bob hires a photographer who
supposedly can work wonders in making a house look good. Then
the photographer presents Bob with the bill -more than the cost
of the house!

1. "EL TORO", the original, unaired, pilot. Bob tries to unload
a mansion in the Hollywood hills by pretending to be a visiting

3. "SALT WATER DAFFY". Bob
rents an expensive mansion full of priceless rugs and
antiquesto a kindly old couple who turn out to raise seals as pets!
4. "JAILBREAK". Bob takes a bum, reforms him, cleans him up,
gets him a job as a real estate agent, and promptly lands in jail!

1. "THE DUEL" Bob's latest client is a sculptress who wants him
to model for her. Then her boyfriend shows up and wants to fight
Bob for her honor.

personality is too easy-going, so Bob decides to change his image
and become a tiger. First order of business: collecting past-due
rent from his clients. 3. "THE BICYCLE". Bob helps an old man
who crashes his bicycle into a street light. The man turns out
to be a millionaire who offers Bob an executive position he can't
refuse.
4. "THE FISHING STORY". Bob brags about his camping
skills to Mr. Thackery, so he invites him on a fishing trip in
the woods and makes him do all the work.

This is Bob's most remembered series. He stars as Bob Collins,
a Hollywood photographer always up to his neck in beautiful
girls....and trouble. The show also stars Ann B. Davis as Schultzy,
Rosemary De Camp, and Dwayne Hickman.
1. "BOB'S FORGOTTEN
FIANCE". Margaret tries to teach Bob a lesson for standing up
women on dates.
2. "BOB GOES TO THE MOON". Bob's attempts at romancing Miss
Sweden land him in the space program, becoming the first man
rocketbound!
3. "GRANDPA'S BUDDY". Silent screen comedian Andy Clyde appears
as an old pal of Granpa Collins (Bob in his famous dual role),
who's in town to meet some swinging women.
4. "BOB DIGS ROCK AND ROLL", complete with original
commercials. A fake Swedish medal of honor and a love of guitar
music are Bob's keys (he thinks) to winning the heart of Miss
Sweden.

BUTTERS BECK....BECK BUTTERS BETTER". Guest star George Burns
offers Bob advice on how to get nephew Chuck's record played on the
radio.

Chuck's constant singing, so Margaret gets guest star Ozzie
Nelson to tell him Chuck can be a star. Original titles and one
commercial are included.
4. "GRANDPA'S XMAS VISIT". Bob
tries to set Grandpa Collins up with a sweet old lady on
Christmas Eve, but he steals Bob's date instead.

4. DUFFY'S TAVERN (1954). Ed "Archie" Gardner stars in this
television version of the popular radio show. Also stars Alan
"Fred Flintstone" Reed as Archie's slow-witted friend.

new friend who promptly accuses her of stealing her purse.

features Dick Van Patten. Nels becomes a camp counselor. His
girlfriend misses him so much, she decides to become a

only they could arrange their schedules to meet once in a
while....
3. HEY MULLIGAN! (1953) stars Mickey Rooney as a
page at a major television network. In this episode, Mickey
tries to ask his supervisor for a raise. There's a cameo
appearance by Angie Dickinson.
4. LET'S JOIN JOANIE (1950). This was a pilot for Joan Davis'
first attempt at television, two years before her "I Married
Joan" series. Joan plays herself, an employee of a hat shop
owned by Joseph Kearns, and who constantly tries to find the man
of her dreams.

1. MY FAVORITE HUSBAND (1955) stars Barry Nelson and Vanessa
Brown in the TV version of the popular radio show, complete

2. MEET McNUTLEY (1953), starring Ray Milland as an English
professor at an all-girls school. This episodes contains original
General Electric commercials.
3. LIFE WITH LUIGI PILOT (1952). The rare first TV program based
on the radio show of the same name. With Vito Scotti as Luigi;
also starring Frank Cady and Herb Vigran. A kinescope.
4. PROFESSIONAL FATHER (1955). This was sort of a "Growing
Pains" of the 1950s, with Steve Dunne as a child psychologist
in complete control of his practice, but in no control at home.
The show also stars Barbara Billingsley as his wife, in her pre-
"Leave It to Beaver" days.

school teacher of the 1950s. Also stars Tony Randall and Marion
Lorne. A rare kinescope.
3. MY FAVORITE HUSBAND (1955).
Another episode of the series, complete with original commercials.
George gets hooked with a piece of junk when he bids at an
auction.
4. THE GOLDBERGS (1955). Molly wants Rosalie to become a
concert singer, but Rosalie's voice teacher thinks otherwise.

V266 VINTAGE SITCOMS, VIII: Celebrity Sitcoms
1. THE THREE STOOGES SHOW (1949). In 1949, Moe, Larry, and Shemp
attempted to bring their screen slapstick to ABC-TV. This
kinescope pilot is the result. In it, the boys play interior
decorators and the show plays much like one of their films. Emil
Sitka and Simona Boniface (from their films) co-star. RARE!
(Note: This show quality is not up to our usual standards, however
it is still watchable and enjoyable.)
2. THE GEORGE BURNS AND GRACIE ALLEN SHOW (1950). An early
episode from the live years of the show. Blanche and Gracie are
jealous of Harry Morton's new secretary, so they invite her to
dinner to check her out. Director Bob Fosse has a cameo; original
commercials intact.
3. THE BING CROSBY SHOW (1954). This pilot was produced for CBS,
and features our favorite crooner doing several songs, while guest
star Jack Benny takes his date Sheree North to see the filming (a
cheap date, no doubt!)
4. DATE WITH THE ANGELS (1957),
starring Betty White and Bill Williams, complete with original
commercials. Vicki spots Liberace dining at the Brown Derby
while the Angels are there, but Bill doesn't believe her. Then
Dennis Day shows up at their house to make matters worse.

prove that she and Brad are descended from American pioneers.

features Ray as dancer Ray Wallace, who also runs a neighborhood
diner. In this show, complete with commercials, Ray insults a
health inspector and may lose the diner as a result.
3. LIFE WITH BUSTER KEATON (1952). Another of Buster's rare
filmed shows has him substituting for the lead in a major play when
he injures the star.
4. TOPPER (1953). A rare episode of
the classic series complete with commercials. Topper's wife
decides to sell the house, much to his and the Kirbys'
dismay. Leo G. Carroll, Robert Sterling, and Anne Jeffries
star.

1. SUSIE (aka PRIVATE SECRETARY) (1956). Ann Sothern stars as
Don Porter's girl Friday in this classic show. Susie's friends try

page. In this episode, a government error saddles Mickey with an
experimental robot.
3. LOVE THAT BOB! (1958). Bob pretends
to be his friend Harvey to help him get a raise. Bob Cummings,

4. WHERE'S RAYMOND?
(1954), with original commercials. Ray is mistakenly drafted

plays her manager. In this episode, a hot shot agent wants to
sign her to an exclusive contract.
4. THE BETTY HUTTON SHOW
(1959). Betty stars as Goldie, a lady whose former employer, a
millionaire, dies and leaves her in charge of his estate and his
children. Goldie thinks the kids are spoiled, and tries to teach
them a lesson by pretending that the family fortune has been spent.

MORE SITCOM CLASSICS
V233 THE BEULAH SHOW (1951/52)
This was the first network series to feature a black actress in the
title role. Louise Beavers stars in shows 1 and 3 as the
Hendersons' handy housekeeper. Episode 2 is one of only a
handful episodes that starred Hattie McDaniel (she became ill
afterward and was replaced by Beavers). Ernest Whitman and
Ruby Dandridge co-star. To complete the cassette, we've
added a few "black exploitation" cartoons that have been
removed from television distribution "Jasper's in a Jam",
"Rasslin' Match", "Lion Tamer", "Scrub Me Momma with a Boogie
Beat", and "Jungle Jitters".
1. "BEULAH'S MISUNDERSTANDING". Beulah is led to believe that
Mrs. Henderson is expecting. Arthur Q. Bryan (the voice of
Elmer Fudd) guests in this episode.
2. "BEULAH THE DANCE TEACHER". Beulah discovers that little
Donny is failing his dance class, and refuses to learn.
3. "BEULAH HELPS THE HENDERSONS". Beulah's employers have a
fight and Beulah takes it upon herself to get them back together.

V244 THE RUGGLES Charlie Ruggles and Erin O'Brien Moore star in
one of TV's earliest family sitcoms, and one of the first to
be broadcast live from Hollywood.
1. "CHARLIE'S PROMOTION" (1950), presented exactly as first
aired, complete with Kraft commercials. Charlie expects a big
raise after recommending an efficiency expert to the company,
but it backfires the expert eliminates Charlie's position!
2. "CHARLIE'S LUCKY DAY" (1950). A photographer shows up at the
Ruggles' to congratulate Charlie, and leaves. Before Charlie can
find out why, the family is besieged with investors, inventors
and bookies.
3. "THE PUNISHMENT" (1950). When the twins run off before
finishing their yardwork, Charlie proposes an unusual reprimand: a
picnic away from home for the entire day.
4. "PERFECT STRANGERS" (1952). The twins are tired of being
teased by their friends, so they decide to stop being alike and
become total strangers.

V252 DATE WITH THE ANGELS (1956/57)
Betty White and Bill Williams star as a newly-married couple that
move in to a neighborhood filled with wacky characters played by
Richard Deacon, Bert Mustin and Maudie Prickett. The last
three shows are complete with 1957 car commercials.
1. "THE TREE IN THE DRIVEWAY". The city plans to remove an oak
tree from the front of the Angels' home. Vicki decides to start a
petition to save it.
2. "THE SURPRISE". Bill plans a surprise
birthday party for Vicki, but she is led to believe that he is
going to run away with
her neighbor.
3. "THE TRAIN". It's the men against the women when a casual
remark sparks a fight on a cross-country train ride between the
Angels and the Clemsons.
4. "DOUBLE TROUBLE". While on
vacation, the Angels stay at a hotel where a lounge singer that
looks and sounds exactly like Vicki has a fight with her
gangster-type boyfriend.
